Rocky Point Scuba Dive
Who We Are

Who We Are

Meet Lea and Nathan Kesler, owners of Rocky Point Scuba Dive for 25 years.

Lea is a certified NAUI instructor for 20+ years and has taught thousands of students under NAUI. Our scuba instruction is based on a safe and enjoyable experience solely teaching a person how to scuba, hindering away from large classes and more based on only a few individuals to private lessons. We have always been an on line business as a source for our Scuba instruction and Dive adventures until now. Recently, we are expanding our horizons and we have opened a NEW Dive Shop located at Manny’s beach Club in Puerto Penasco (aka Rocky Point). With our new location, we can now expand our dive opportunities. Manny’s Beach Club has a heated pool for Dive instruction, we have office space for classroom time and the whole Sea of Cortez, outside our door, to begin open water certifications right off the beach by the pool. We are excited to live in Puerto Penasco and begin a new adventure training students to dive and take them on trips all around the world to open new experiences. We also offer accommodations for those with larger groups!

Socorro Islands
Where: The Revillagigedo Islands (also Revillagigedo Archipelago) are a group of four volcanic islands in the Pacific Ocean, known for their unique ecosystem. The islands are home to many endemic plant and animal species.  Socorro island is the most diverse in flora, fauna, and topography. The islands lie 250 miles off Baja Mexico’s southern shore. Guests fly into San Jose del Cabo (airport code SJD).  We dive the islands of San Benedicto, Socorro, and Roca Partida.  Our season is November through the end of May.
When: Dec 27, 2023 – Jan 05, 2024
What to expect: These islands are a spectacular magnet for the largest ocean pelagic animals in the world. Animals include schooling hammerhead sharks, tiger sharks, friendly bottlenose dolphins, silky sharks, Galapagos sharks, clouds of jacks and barracuda, tuna, wahoo, oceanic white tip sharks, whale sharks, and manta rays. Manta Rays are the claim to fame for Socorro Islands. The island where they predominately congregate is San Benedicto. The magical dive site, “The Boiler” is a submerged sea mount and cleaning station. More than a half dozen mantas frequent this pinnacle regularly. The mantas in the Revillagigedo Islands are friendly and enjoy the presence of humans. This is truly an exceptional place to experience the manta magic. Whale sharks may be seen during November, December, and May. We always make an extra special dinner on New Year’s Eve along with champagne and decorations.
Our itinerary is ten days and nine nights and includes six full days of diving.  Below is our scheduled diving itinerary.  Weather and sea conditions may require changes to this itinerary. If unique animal sighting opportunities arise, we may suggest alternative options to divers.
