There are several spots around Puerto Penasco that we do shore and boat dives from. The daily dive sites are often determined by the weather, wind, current and tide with your safety being our first priority. If it’s bad diving, we will let you know and refund or reschedule accordingly. We have all the gear, and equipment available to rent. Boat dives are also determined by best available dive sites according to current conditions, and they all have a different perspective for the Sea of Cortez diving environment. We hope to see you under the water soon!
- Boat dives will leave either at 8am, back at 1pm or leave at 1pm, back at 6pm.
- Boat dives are $125 per person for 2 tanks, $50 additional for gear rental. Minimum 4 divers. Minimum 3 divers $140 per person, $ 50 gear rental. Minimum 2 divers $150 , $50 gear rental.
- Shore dives are usually at Wrecked at the Reef or in front of Manny’s.
- Cost is $125 for 1 tank dive including gear.
- Gear rental is $100 (mask, fins. boots, snorkel, wetsuit, BC, regulator & computer)
- BC, Regulator, Computer $50 rental
Isla San Jorge aka Bird Island – Day Trip
Where: This is a wonderful day trip to Isla San Jorge, better know as Bird Island. This little island is located 28 miles south east of Puerto Penasco and the only way to get there is by boat.
When: This is an all day trip departing at 7am and returning to port around 5pm. Check calendar for availability
What to expect: Light snacks and drinks will be provided. There is always a chance to see dolphins or the occasional Whale Shark on the way to and from the island! December to March Fin whales and occasional Humpback whales return to the area for a good opportunity for pictures! Isla San Jorge is best know for it’s playful sea lion colony and a huge variety of birds. Once we arrive at the island you will have an opportunity to scuba dive, snorkel, kayak, or just enjoy the sights. These friendly creatures are a quite entertaining; whether you are diving, snorkeling, or sightseeing you will surely enjoy this adventure!
Cost:$225 per diver and $115 per snorkeler or passenger includes equipment
*50% Deposit required to hold your dive date and dive spot on the chartered boat. Deposits are non-refundable 2 weeks prior to dive excursion, deposits are 100% refundable if excursions is cancelled by Rocky Point Scuba Dive

Bahia De Los Angelas 2026
Where: Join us for this amazing once-in-a-lifetime trip to Bahia de los Angeles. This very remote fishing village is located halfway down the Baja Peninsula on the Sea of Cortez.

What to expect:
Day 1 – Travel from your location down Baja California to Bahia De Los Angeles. We will depart from Phoenix Arizona at 4am with our group of adventurists in a caravan style. You can design your own adventure and meet us on the way or in BDLA. The drive is approximately 10-11 hours, but very beautiful with several picturesque stops on the way. We arrive at Villa Bahia, our hotel, and settle into our rooms. Welcome drinks and appetizers will be served upon your arrival. We will then give briefings on our weekly activities and other opportunities at that time.
Day 2 – Relax and unwind! We will give free refresher courses before lunch and then do a shore dive off Villa Bahia’s beach to check gear, get properly weighted and most importantly, get comfortable breathing under water. Then we relax, swim, float, sun and chill. Kayaks are available and a couple palapas right on the water for shade.
Day 3 – Breakfast at 7am. The Panga’s (dive boats) will pick us up, and our gear, on our beach at 8am. Very convenient! Pick the best location for diving that day and off we go! We will do back roll entries from our panga boats on every dive. We will dive two tanks per day. On our surface intervals, we explore the islands by boat, look for dolphins or whales and educate you on the surrounding Sea of Cortez. We have lunch on a nearby beach and after the second dive, then off to snorkel with the WHALE SHARKS!! This is amazing!! Then back to our hotel we go, to relax, walk on the beach, nap, kayak, paddleboard or fish and did we say….. ??? RELAX!!!
Days 4-7 We will repeat day three. Something different every day with so much to explore. Underwater sea life is amazing and different on each and every dive.
Day 8 It is time for our journey home!
Cost: $1750 . WHAT IS INCLUDED: accommodations based on double occupancy, two dives per day, tanks and weights, whale shark preserve passes, all meals and non-alcoholic beverages.
