Lea Lubeck is the most certified, accredited, and apt scuba dive instructor in Rocky Point. Not only has she
been diving for 20 years, she has been teaching scuba dive for 10. Along with these years of experience, she is an SSI
and Andi scuba instructor. Lea Lubeck loves to work with kids, and holds Scuba Ranger summer camps at Forest
Highlands in Flagstaff and Sedona, AZ as well. She is also affiliated with Scuba Sciences in Phoenix and
classes are available there, too.
Private lessons are her preference because of the one on one attention and instruction people receive when
learning this new skill. Puerto Penasco, aka Rocky Point, Sonora, Mexico is her primary and preferred place
to teach, though she has dived all over the world. Fiji, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Cozumel, California, Florida
and all along the coast of Mexico are just some of the places, but the Sea of Cortez is her favorite.
She says that diverse conditions make for a better diver, and she feels comfortable after training that
they can go anywhere and be just fine. She is extremely flexible, offering different scuba diving programs
to accommodate any schedule. She holds scuba dive classes in Flagstaff, Phoenix, and also in Rocky Point, Mexico.
Another special thing about Lea and her scuba diving classes is that she can accommodate scuba students in
Mexico via Sea Side Reservations. In Rocky Point, the open water scuba certification is done aboard a yacht,
many times with baby sea lions! How about a week long adventure trip to Angel Island aboard a luxury yacht
from Rocky Point, and diving in a new environment?! She charters the newest yacht in Rocky Point, the Rocio del Mar,
for just these types of trips. For day trips, the preferred yacht is the Pancho Villa. Two other spots to Scuba dive
in the northern Sea of Cortez is Bird Island and a little farther south is Puerto Lobos. There are lots of options
to consider, such as weeklong accommodations with Sea Side Reservations if a live-aboard is not desired.
